The distillery is dramatically located at the foot of Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, where harsh climate, fresh mountain air and crystal clear spring water leave their mark on the raw and honest character of the distillate. It’s Highland whisky with backbone, depth and a slightly rustic charm that has made Ben Nevis beloved by connoisseurs.

This edition has first matured in a refill hogshead before a final maturation in a 1st fill Palo Cortado quarter cask. The rare Spanish sherry cask adds vinous nuances, roasted nuts and an elegant spicy lift that blends beautifully with the distillery’s natural malty heaviness.

The whisky is bottled at cask strength 53%, without chill filtration and without colorant. Only 139 bottles have been released from cask 800364 – a highly attractive release for collectors and dedicated drinkers alike.

Tasting notes

Nose: Fresh and vibrant with orange peel, acacia honey and a mineral hint of mountain air. With time in the glass, it develops notes of roasted nuts and warm sherry sweetness.

Flavor: Rich and complex. Caramelized sugar, dried figs and dark chocolate are accompanied by spicy oak and vinous notes from the Palo Cortado cask.

Finish: Long, creamy and elegant with vanilla, warm spices and a subtle hint of smoked malt that lingers.
