Braunstein Edition 1 is not just a Danish single malt whisky – it is the beginning of Danish whisky history. As Denmark’s first single cask whisky, this exclusive bottling marks a historic moment in the art of Danish distilling. For collectors, enthusiasts and connoisseurs, this is a bottle with soul, strength and signature.

This Danish single malt was distilled in 2007 and aged for 3 years in a 225 liter Oloroso sherry cask. This choice of cask gives the whisky a deep and characterful profile, where the dark sweetness and spicy complexity of the sherry blends with the malt in a harmonious and powerful whole. The result is an intense, rich and nuanced whisky, bottled at a natural cask strength of 62.1%.

Production is uncompromising from start to finish. Selected malts are transformed into aromatic wort, which is gently distilled to preserve the character of the raw materials. Aging in the former Oloroso sherry cask adds notes of grape, dark chocolate and raisins, while the alcohol carries the flavor forward with warmth and depth. With only 300 bottles bottled, this is a true limited edition whisky from Denmark.

Braunstein Edition 1 is a powerful experience in its pure form, but can benefit from adding a few drops of water to open up even more layers of aroma and complexity. A single cask whisky with edge, elegance and historical significance.

Tasting notes
