Seven Stars has been revived by Cadenhead’s, Scotland’s oldest independent whisky bottler, which has been known for uncompromising quality since 1842. This modern edition builds on the house’s proud tradition, in which selected malt and grain whiskies are blended with great precision to create a harmonious and flavorful whole.

The blend consists of approximately 60% grain whiskey and 40% malt whiskey from several Scottish distilleries, with Benrinnes among the well-known components. After blending, the whisky undergoes a final maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, which add extra depth, body, and a beautiful dark color. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration and without added color, preserving its natural character all the way from cask to bottle.

The result is a silky-smooth and complex blended Scotch with plenty of fruit, spices, and sherry notes. A whisky that will impress both blended Scotch enthusiasts and dedicated single malt drinkers.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Strawberries with cream, baked apples, and butter cookies open the aroma. This is followed by raisins, cherries, cinnamon, vanilla, and elegant notes of Oloroso sherry with a hint of dark caramel.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded with dried fruit, mandarin peel, muscovado sugar, and ginger cookies. Vanilla, caramel, and soft spices create a beautiful balance between sweetness and warmth.

Finish: Medium to long, with raisins, cocoa, toasted nuts, and a hint of oak. A subtle bitterness and fresh citrus notes provide an elegant and harmonious finish.

The House’s History

Cadenhead’s was founded in 1842 and is Scotland’s oldest independent whisky bottler. Over generations, the house has built a reputation for selecting some of Scotland’s most interesting casks and presenting them without unnecessary intervention. Today, Cadenhead’s is owned by J & A Mitchell, the family behind the iconic Springbank and Glengyle distilleries in Campbeltown.
