Hazelburn 12 year Oloroso Cask is a rare and characterful single malt whisky from Campbeltown – created for the discerning whisky lover who appreciates true craftsmanship, depth and elegance. The whisky is matured for a full 12 years in fresh Oloroso sherry casks, giving an intense and warm flavor profile with plenty of complexity. It is bottled at full cask strength and is neither chill-filtered nor colored – just as it should be. A slight natural cloudiness may occur at low temperature, which is just a sign of quality and disappears again when the whisky reaches room temperature.

Tasting notes

Nose: Intense and rich with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits and raisins, complemented by subtle notes of leather and cedar.

Taste: Velvety smooth and powerful with flavors of caramel, walnuts and espresso, rounded by warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The sherry influence adds depth and a nicely balanced sweetness.

Finish: Long and persistent with toasted almonds, spicy oak and a pleasant, lingering sherry sweetness.

Hazelburn is part of the legacy of the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown – one of Scotland’s most traditional and respected distilleries. Produced in limited quantities, Hazelburn is characterized by its triple distillation and unsmoked style, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and elegant whisky without compromising on depth and character. Everything is produced in-house using classic methods, which has earned the distillery an almost legendary status among whisky enthusiasts around the world.
