Kistler Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021 is an elegant and deeply concentrated Pinot Noir from one of California’s most prestigious wineries. The Russian River Valley is known for its cool climate, which provides perfect conditions for Pinot Noir, creating wines of great finesse, freshness and aromatic complexity.

The grapes come from a clone originally from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy that has been grown at Kistler for more than twenty-five years. This clone produces a very low yield in the field, resulting in grapes with high concentration, natural depth and intense aromatic character. The result is a Pinot Noir with both power and elegance – a style that has made Kistler one of the most coveted names in California.

At Kistler, the work in the vineyard is characterized by great respect for nature. The grapes are therefore harvested during the cool hours of the night when temperatures are low. This is when the grapes are freshest and their natural acidity is best preserved – a crucial factor for the balance and elegance of the wine.

In the cellar, each fermentation is handled with great precision and minimal intervention. Each Pinot Noir fermentation is manually monitored around the clock, but controlled as little as possible. The wines ferment spontaneously on wild yeast at moderately cool temperatures and with minimal processing of the grapes. This approach produces an authentic wine where both terroir and grape are clearly expressed.

The result is a Pinot Noir with a silky smooth structure, great depth and impressive aromatic intensity. A wine that can be enjoyed now and develop even more complexity with a few years of aging.

Aroma: Intense and elegant with aromas of ripe cherries, wild strawberries, rose petals and a hint of forest floor and fine spices.

Flavor: Silky and concentrated with layers of red berries, cherries, raspberries and light spicy notes from the barrel. Great structure and vibrant acidity for a harmonious and balanced wine.

Finish: Long and elegant with notes of red berries, light minerality and subtle spices.
