Provolo Amarone della Valpolicella 2016 – A majestic Amarone with depth and elegance

Provolo Amarone della Valpolicella 2016 is a big and impressive red wine from the heart of Valpolicella in Veneto. This is a classic Amarone with power, complexity and silky elegance. The wine is made with great respect for the traditions of the area and clearly shows why Amarone is one of Italy’s most prestigious wines.

This vintage is intense and full-bodied with layers of dark fruit, spice and a deep structure. Amarone is known for its concentration and warm, rich character. At the same time, Provolo manages to maintain a beautiful balance and finesse in the wine, giving a harmonious and elegant experience in the glass.

Production follows the classic Amarone method. Only the best grapes are selected and hand-harvested from the vineyards. After harvest, the grapes are dried for several months in ventilated attics. This process, called appassimento, concentrates the sugar, aroma and structure of the grapes.

After drying, the wine undergoes a slow fermentation and is then aged in wooden barrels for longer. This maturation gives Amarone its characteristic depth, warm spices and soft tannins. The result is a wine with great complexity and an impressively long finish.

Provolo Amarone 2016 is perfect for hearty dishes. It goes particularly well with stews, grilled meats and mature cheeses. At the same time, it’s a wine that can also be enjoyed on its own in the glass, where its many nuances really come into their own.

The story behind Provolo

The Provolo family has been producing wine in Valpolicella for more than a century. The story began in the early 20th century when Guglielmo Provolo bought the family’s first vineyards. His son Luigino continued the work and expanded the vineyard despite the difficult years during World War II.

In the third generation, Marco Provolo continued the development of the winery. He combined innovation with respect for the traditions of Valpolicella. Today, the winery is run by Matteo and Alessia Provolo. They continue the family’s proud heritage with modern knowledge and a passion for quality.
