2021 vintage – exceptional balance and intensity

The 2021 vintage was characterized by a long and cool growing season. Strong spring winds and changing weather conditions produced small, concentrated grapes with intense aromatics. The late harvest in late September and early October created a wine with a fine balance of fresh acidity, ripe fruit and depth – a Pinot Noir with energy, elegance and ageing potential.

Modern and precise winemaking

One third of the wine is fermented with whole clusters and dry stems, adding structure, spicy nuances and extra complexity. The majority is fermented in steel tanks to preserve freshness and pure fruit, while a smaller proportion is fermented in new oak barrels for subtle and luxurious notes. After fermentation, 87% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels (25% new), while the rest has rested in oval oak barrels to add roundness and aromatic depth.

Tasting notes

The nose is intense and vibrant with aromas of wild strawberry, dark cherry and raspberry, elegantly accompanied by floral notes. Beneath the fruit are fine notes of cocoa, toasted toast and a subtle hint of pancetta, adding depth and character. The palate is medium-bodied, silky and generous with layers of strawberry, cherry and ripe plum. Slightly earthy undertones and floral aromas lead to a long, harmonious and mineral finish.
