GlenAllachie 15 Years Speyside Single Malt – A.D. Rattray Cask Collection at cask strength

GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Speyside Single Malt from A.D. Rattray is a powerful and deeply aromatic whisky from the coveted Cask Collection range. Special casks are selected from Scotland’s distilleries and the whisky is bottled individually to preserve the pure character of both distillate and cask.

This edition was distilled at GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside on May 6, 2008. The whisky was then matured for a full 15 years, giving it impressive depth and complexity. The long maturation allows the fruit, spice and cask character to meld into an intense and balanced whisky.

The whisky is matured in a 1st fill sherry butt cask. This type of cask adds rich notes of dried fruit, dark sweetness and spicy nuances. At the same time, the first fill provides an extra concentration of flavor that makes the whisky both rich and complex.

Bottling was done at a full cask strength of 64.5%, resulting in a powerful and concentrated flavor experience. Only 627 bottles have been bottled from this cask, making this edition an exciting bottle for collectors and whisky enthusiasts alike.

Tasting notes

Nose: Dense aromas of raisins, tart orange and crystallized ginger.

Taste: Rich and intense with muscovado sugar, black licorice and maraschino cherry.

Finish: Long and complex with elegant notes of charcuterie, leather and tobacco.
