The Story of Gordon & Macphail

Gordon & Macphail was founded in 1895 in Elgin, Morayshire – often referred to as “The Whisky Capital of the World”. The town’s location close to Speyside, where much of Scotland’s malt whisky is produced, along with the cool, damp climate by the River Lossie, provides ideal conditions for long-term maturation.

As an independent bottler, Gordon & Macphail has specialised for generations in selecting and maturing casks from Scotland’s most prestigious distilleries. With respect for traditional production methods – dating back to the first official whisky licence granted in 1824 – the house ensures that every bottling preserves the authentic character and quality of malt whisky.
