PlumpJack was founded in 1995 when Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty acquired a unique piece of land in the heart of Oakville. The name was inspired by Shakespeare’s Sir John “PlumpJack” Falstaff – a character known for his zest for life, loyalty and love of wine. That spirit lives on in the wines, which combine serious quality with approachable elegance.

The grapes are sourced from PlumpJack’s own estate vineyard in Oakville AVA. The 2018 vintage in Napa Valley was outstanding with optimal growing conditions, resulting in perfectly ripe grapes with concentration and balance. The wine is aged in French oak barrels where it develops depth, structure and complexity.

The result is a world-class Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense, age-worthy and harmonious now.

Aroma: Concentrated aromas of sun-ripened black currant, black cherry and plum. Underlying notes of cedar, cocoa and roasted spices.

Flavor: Full-bodied and structured with dense dark fruit. Nicely integrated cask with vanilla and light toast. Silky, ripe tannins and impressive balance.

Finish: Long and complex. Dark fruit, graphite and elegant oak linger in a persistent finish.
