Torabhaig Taigh is an exciting Scottish Single Malt Whisky where soft peat smoke, sweet fruit, and warm spices blend together. Here you’ll find a whisky with plenty of character, but also impressive elegance and balance.

Taigh is the first regular release from the Torabhaig Distillery on the beautiful Isle of Skye. It was created to showcase the distillery’s distinctive style, where the smoke adds depth without overpowering the other flavor nuances.

Three different cask types add extra depth

Torabhaig Taigh has been matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks, reused bourbon casks, and selected Madeira casks. This gives the whiskey a lovely blend of sweetness, fruit, and spices.

The Bourbon casks contribute vanilla, honey, and soft oak notes. The Madeira casks add extra roundness and a lovely sweetness from ripe fruits. At the same time, the characteristic peat smoke runs as an elegant thread throughout the entire experience.

The whiskey is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added color. This preserves its natural character and full-bodied flavor.

Tasting Notes – Mellow smoke and lovely fruity sweetness

Nose: Inviting aromas of mild peat smoke, baked apples, and vanilla. Subtle hints of sea air, maple syrup, and warm spices add extra complexity.

Taste: Round and pleasantly full-bodied with notes of creamy vanilla, toasted almonds, and dried fruit. The soft smokiness blends beautifully with the sweetness and the slightly spicy nuances.

Finish: Long and warm with toasted oak, cinnamon, cloves, and an elegant peat smoke that slowly fades away.

Torabhaig – A New Chapter in the History of Skye’s Whisky

Torabhaig Distillery is located on the Sleat Peninsula on the Scottish island of Skye. The distillery began production in 2017, becoming the island’s second whisky distillery after the time-honored Talisker.

The distillery is housed in a beautifully restored historic farmhouse. Here, classic Scottish whisky production is combined with a modern approach to flavor and quality.

Torabhaig operates according to the philosophy “Smoke with Taste,” where the peat smoke is meant to highlight the whisky’s many nuances rather than dominate them.

The name “Taigh” means “house” in Scottish Gaelic. A fitting name for the distillery’s first permanent whisky, which is intended to represent the distinctive Torabhaig style.
