The whisky was casked on November 29, 1991, and first bottled on April 14, 2026. The result is a 34-year-old grain whisky with great elegance, creamy richness, and a complex, fruity character.

The whisky comes from the now-closed Cambus Distillery in the Scottish Lowlands. The long maturation took place in a second-fill puncheon, where the whisky slowly developed its soft and refined profile without being overpowered by the cask.

This bottling is part of the Warehouse Reserve from Woodrow’s of Edinburgh. Cask number 103260A yielded only 275 bottles, which were bottled at 52%. The combination of its advanced age, a closed distillery, and a very limited number of bottles makes it particularly interesting for both whiskey enthusiasts and collectors.

Taste: A creamy and oily mouthfeel with notes of cheesecake, white chocolate, and fresh citrus. Pear and apricot add ripe fruit, while coconut and a subtle hint of dried cigar leaves provide extra complexity.

Finish: Gentle and lingering with creamy vanilla, ripe peach, cinnamon, and aromatic star anise.

The History of Cambus and Woodrow’s of Edinburgh

Cambus Distillery was founded in the Scottish Lowlands and, throughout its long history, became particularly known for the production of grain whiskey. The distillery closed in 1993, and the remaining old casks from Cambus are therefore a rare part of Scotch whiskey history. As the casks are bottled, old whiskey from the distillery is becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Woodrow’s of Edinburgh operates as an independent bottler, working with carefully selected casks from Scottish distilleries.
