Glen Spey 21 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky – Douglas Laing XOP

Glen Spey 21 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky from Douglas Laing’s exclusive Xtra Old Particular (XOP) range is a rare and refined bottling that showcases the elegant and fruity character of Speyside whisky in its purest form. This limited edition whisky has been selected by renowned independent bottler Douglas Laing, who is known for sourcing exceptional casks from Scotland’s best distilleries.

The whisky was distilled in January 1997 at Glen Spey Distillery in the heart of Speyside and then matured for 21 years. The long maturation in a refill hogshead cask has given the whisky a beautiful balance between the distillery’s natural fruity style and an elegant cask influence that adds depth and complexity.

This bottling comes from a single cask – cask #DL12952 – giving the whisky a unique character. Only 356 bottles are bottled from this cask, each one hand-filled and individually numbered. The whisky is bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.1% and without chill filtration or the addition of color, preserving all the nuances of the cask and distillate.

The result is a complex and elegant Speyside whisky with great depth, where sweetness, spice and cask notes blend together in a harmonious whole. A bottle that will delight whisky enthusiasts and make an attractive collector’s item.
